Our Mission

Our research laboratory is committed to developing innovative cancer therapies which prevent cancer progression.

We specifically aim to uncover novel insights into the role of APOBECs in promoting the evolution of cancers, leading to acquired drug resistance and cancer development.

Therapy-induced APOBEC3A drives evolution of persistent cancer cells
Isozaki, H. et al. Nature. 620, 393–401 (2023)

Our recent work showed that APOBEC3A promotes the evolution of persistent cancer cells during targeted therapy, facilitating acquired drug resistance.
